- Dragged myself out of bed at 8:00 AM (after going to bed at 2:00 AM the night before)
- Quick breakfast in the hotel (cereal and yogurt- Indian food for breakfast would be way too much)
- He brought me to my new office. I have a phone but couldn't tell you how to dial the number to reach me here. My office is 2 buildings down from most of the other people I will work with because their building has no offices for me.
- Met the facilities guy. He is going to try to get me into the proper building, plus get me a local cell phone and a card for my Blackberry to make it an Indian local phone.
- Drove way up into town to a café to meet the moving guy. Signed a zillion pages so they can accept our air and sea shipments on my behalf. Air shipment should arrive tonight, be released tomorrow, and delivered to our house on Friday or Saturday. (Which I'm pretty sure means Saturday)
- Found out our sea shipment will go on the ship APL Tennessee from Los Angeles, through Singapore, to Chennai. We expect it in Chennai July 27. Clay is going to help us track it around the world.
- We met the sales guy from the bank I will use, ICICI. I signed a zillion pages to get a checking account. He gave me a checkbook and debit card, but there won't be any money in the account until Ford makes my first deposit.
- Went to a local place for lunch.
- Drove to our new house so I could see that they replaced the gross tub with a nice clean shower. They also re-caulked that gross floor drain with pink caulk and put a "vanity" (a set of home-made drawers) under the sink.
- It started raining. But temps aren't too high. Maybe 80?
- Back to work to do a little email.
Tomorrow should be a pretty regular work day for me. Just waiting for the shipment to come in. On Monday we will apply for my local residency permit. That is required before we can order internet for the house.
