We have messed around and messed around with Palmer Moving on getting our air shipment sent. First we had to argue about when the shipment could leave Michigan. This involved email and phone calls with Palmer's Indian partners to tell Palmer how to do their job. Now I've been waiting since last Wednesday, when our stuff was supposed to arrive, and it's not here yet. Seems they used a sub-contractor who sent the shipment via Saudi Airlines rather than direct to Lufthansa (which everyone assures me worked well for them). I've sent emails, made phone calls, asked for advise, yelled, swore, and cried.
So today I sent an email to the CEO of Palmer Moving, and copied the CEO of Cartus, the so-called "relocation experts" who are supposed to be managing my move. But who are proving no more help than is the Palmer rep.
Any wagers on if this will have any impact at all?

Subject: Your urgent assistance requested.
I am in the midst of moving from Detroit to India with Ford Motor Company. My air shipment has been stalled for a week and no one in the Detroit office is helping. I would appreciate some executive-level assistance with my move.
Will you please have someone ensure my air shipment is delivered to Chennai today? It was due last Wednesday but is currently in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh or Jeddah) with Saudi Airlines, air bill #065-843-xxxxx.
Also, I am now concerned about your company's ability to manage my sea shipment which was supposed to have left yesterday. Will you please ensure my sea shipment is delivered without the delays and complications we have experienced with the air shipment?
You may call my cell but I am in India which is 9.5 hours ahead of Detroit. You may also contact my husband who is in Detroit.
Once all my goods, air and sea, are in Chennai I would like to speak to you about the manner in which this move was managed. We have been working with Janet Felton and she has been of no assistance. Here is some of our correspondence to give you an idea of the time and trouble we have spent on this move.
On a better note, your packers did an excellent job of packing our materials and we are comfortable that our items will arrive in good condition, should they make it to Chennai.
Thank you very much for your time and attention.
