It's been a few days, our shipment isn't in Chennai yet, but Palmer seems to think it will be here tomorrow and the guy in Chennai thinks he can dleiver it to our house on Sunday (which might mean Monday). To catch you up, here is the email chain which has been going in since my last installment:

Good News!. We have found your shipment in Riyadh. Your air shipment will be in Chennai, India on Saturday morning. I had a conference call this morning, with the air forwarder who physical spoke to the airline in Chennai this morning and confirmed the shipment was in Riyadh.
I do apologize for the inconvenience that the delay has caused you.

Today is 1 July 2010. My air shipment was scheduled to arrive in Chennai on 23 June. Every day since 23 June there has been one update which either says:
• we don't know where your shipment is
• your shipment is in Chennai but the people there don't know it
• the shipment is at JFK
• it's in Saudi Arabia
• it will be there tonight, 100%
Every new morning it's the same story: goods are not in Chennai and no one knows what the problem is. I have not seen any evidence that anyone is doing anything other than sending emails and making calls to the same people once per day, and getting the same lack of information each time.
It's time to admit that you lost our goods, to reimburse us for the value, and schedule a new shipment to be picked up from our house no later than 8 July.
I will look for your confirmation of this plan by noon Detroit time, 1 July 2010.

We do not know anything "for certain" at this time. It is not from a lack of effort, consistent with Jennifer's suggestion, all communication is being done via direct phone calls. Saudi Airlines continues to state the shipment is at the destination terminal. The destination terminal contact said the shipment it is not there and they believe it is scheduled to be on a flight tonight (this is the same thing they said yesterday and no shipment arrived). ISL, the freight forwarder handling this, is having a supervisor call at 3 AM Eastern to try and get a resolution.
We are checking if sending a small air shipment with the items for the cats is possible. We are checking if 2 air shipments are permitted by customs, if an arrival date of 7/8 is achievable, and what the cost will be for an 100# air shipment. I hope to have these answers in the morning.

This will confirm receipt of your email.. I have spoke to Mulit Moving this morning. I have called Saudi airlines, and they are checking on your shipment. We are making phone calls and not relaying on e-mails. I will keep you posted through out the day.
